M.Pharm - Master of Pharmacy

Master of Pharmacy a post graduate course run by Government College of Pharmacy and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The eligibility for admission is B.Pharm from any recognised university of India with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of 4 years).

For SC/ST Category-I candidates, the prescribed percentage of marks will be 50% of the maximun marks in the qualifying examinations for Karnataka State Students.

Duration of Course

The course of M.Pharm will extend over a period of two academic years. The curricula and syllabi for the course will be prescribed from time to time by RGUHS.
A choice of 4 disciplines are available at present, the areas are as follows:-
  1. Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  2. Pharmaceutics,
  3. Pharmacognosy
  4. Pharmacology

Dissertation

A candidate presenting himself / herself for M.Pharm examination submits to the Registrar(Evaluation), six months before commencement of the examination five typed copies of a dissertation embodying the candidates own work and investigations under direct guidance of a recognized teacher.

Attendance

The candidates are normally expected to attend all allotted work period (both theory and practicals) in each of the prescribed subject. They should attend80%of the total number of classes conducted in each of the subject to be eligible to appear for the university examination in that subject.

Internal assessment

Three sessional examinations shall be conducted during the academic year by the college. The average marks of best two examinations, separately for theory and practical shall be computed for the declaration of Results.
